Beginning life as a BBQ trailer on the Southbank, it didn’t take long for Pitt Cue Co. to become a meat lover’s Mecca. Renowned for its succulent, authentic American dishes, it became so popular that after just one summer, Richard Turner (Hawksmoor) and Simon Anderson (Albion, Islington) offered their help in setting the Pitt Cue boys up with this new, permanent residency just behind Soho’s Carnaby Street.

Split over two floors (downstairs dining, upstairs bar), Pitt Cue Co. is downright tiny (they say they can seat 30, but at 20 it starts feeling pretty full) but the place just oozes rustic, carnivorous charm. From their chintzy lace-curtained windows, Pitt Cue’s sole aim is to satisfy their ravenous customers for just £10, offering a choice of meaty mains (think Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs) alongside a changing list of specials. The drinks menu, meanwhile, is rounded off with top local and US beers, a good range of bourbons, cocktails and of course the infamous house Pickleback – a shot each of bourbon and pickle brine, served up with an optional side of pork crackling. Try it. After all, you only live once.Quote_transparent
